hey guys have a 2006 white macbook running 10.4.11, i was wondering if i could use the optical drive from my mac mini or pc so i can remotely use it with my macbook... ive seen that i could enable remote disk if i had 10.5 or above but i dont. so any help would be great, thanks!

turn off mb
hold down T
turn on mb
keep holding till ur in target disk mode

Fine apart from that would put the MacBook into Target mode......

You need to connect the Macs with a 6 pin to 6 pin Firewire cable then startup the Mac whose optical drive you want to use while holding down T.

Why not update the MacBook to 10.6 ????

Can I update without using a disk? Can I download from
Somewhere? I'm
New to macs thanks

Ok thank you, can I do that without the FireWire cable or do I have to do it the way the guy above posted?

Well I got the FireWire cable but it was the wrong one..it's my fault I should have been more specific..I got the 6pin to 6pin cable which fits my MacBook but doesn't fit the mini, what cable do I need? Thanks
