Are the 2007 MacBook Pros also affected by the GPU failure found in the 2008? They both use the same Nvidia chips, but I haven't heard anything about the 2007 models facing the issue.
 
Yes. My daughter had 3 logic board replacements on her 2007 and my son had two on his 2007. These were both 15s. I had one on my 2008 17.
