Ok, So I got a 17" Macbook Pro for Christmas 3 years ago. I got the 3 year protection plan. Since then I have had disks stuck, flashing screens, bad batteries, etc. With 19 days left of warranty I just realized the battery is splitting apart and I can see inside of it. The battery also shuts off the computer at 90% left. There is a class action law suit about the Nvidia 8600M GT graphics card. Supposedly Nvidia will spend 2 million dollars in fixing the affected computers. I'm really disappointing with this 3,600$ laptop. If anyone has dealt with a similar problem or has any experience with this please reply.

Early 2008 here, not exactly the same but close. No problems and all problems have been readily addressed by apple.

Same here, I've only had battery issues sorted via Applecare.

Aside from that, I've had sporadic screen issues - specifically the vertical line band problem.
