At the moment, my MacBook, which has been up for a mere three hours, is under pretty much no load at all - I'm idling it on the desktop, the CPU usage is right down along with memory usage.

Yet, the CPU is currently 57°... Is that kind of temperature normal under such a light load? Am I just being paranoid?

Thanks in advance!

If that is Celsius it might be a bit high, but what is the temperature in your room and outside?

My iMac is currently 48°C hot and it's 24°C outside.

It is Celsius, yeah.

The temperature outside is only about 15°C, and it can't be that much warmer in here.

MacBook's running at 61° right now...

At the moment it's over 60°C and the fans haven't even kicked in... Is that why it's getting so hot? Are my fans broken?

My Late 06 MacBook idled at 60C. Nothing to worry about. The fan should kick in around 65-70C.

Thanks, looks like I was just worrying over nothing after all, I just got it to push 70° (Flash is good for something :D) and fans kicked in.
