Im pretty sure that 6gb is the max I can stuff in here, but is the best I can use DDR2-5300?

I have read that as long as one stick is 5300 I can put a faster on in the second slot??

Clarification is most appreciated :)

You can but you won't get any benefit, it'll just read it at 5300 speed.

Im not worried about speed, I just cant find a set of 5300 locally and was wondering what I could expand my options to.

There are some cheap sets for DDR3 locally

DDR3 will definitely not work.

I know your pain. DDR2 is really expensive.
