I was watching Final Cut Pro X demo and saw Motion 5 demo as well I am curious anyone with 2007 model running Motion 5? this price is very cheap and tempting.

It depends on your GPU - see this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664

i have FCP X running, or better oozing, on a 2007 iMac with the Radeon 2600. It does basic edits, but doesn't do anything that is related to Open GL (effects). Didn't bother to install Motion 5 yet, but as it is even more reliant on the GPU than FCP X is, I doubt it'll work at all.

VRAM is in this case less important than Open GL drivers. You could work (slowly) with a machine having a low amount of VRAM, but effects are based on Open GL, so they won't work.

Had the same problem with my old Macbook with FCP Classic and Blender - Open GL drivers too old - didn't work.

thank you for your reply you know I don't want to buy motion 5 if it does not work on this machine. :)
