I don't see my Dawgs™ in there anywhere
Must be some mistake ;)

Will Carolina actually seal the deal this year, or will they choke?

Who is your team MacNut?
I have no Dawg in this hunt... although I have been partial to SEC teams
And Duke

Woof, Woof - Dawg

Since I live in CT I follow the Huskies.

UNC is a good regular season team, but once the tourney starts who knows.

I think the ladies could take some mens teams on.

Back when I was in college, I used to run the animations on all the scoreboards for UT basketball games. So many times while I was working on new animations to use, either the men's team or women's team would be practicing.

This was back when Jody Conradt was coach of UT's women's team. She'd bring in these crazy athletic street ballers from East Austin and have them scrimmage with the girls squad. She'd tell them to do their worst. They'd dunk on the girls, swat the ball away on just about every shot the girls would take - knock them down. It was nuts. I mean, these were some crazy gangster like dudes, and they were given carte blanche to smack our team around. All in an effort to toughen them up. I thought it was genius.

How about Michigan? It looks as though they may finally be recovering from the fab-five era. With wins over UCLA and Duke already this season, I think they can compete pretty well in conference play. I'm excited to see if they'll make the tournament, and how far they can go.

Go Duke!

Carolina will be hard to beat. They are awfully good and awfully deep. I would love to see a Carolina vs. Duke final. If only Duke had a decent big man.

Pittsburgh should be the new number 1 with UNC and Uconn both going down.

Looks like we might see a few number 1s this season. Pitt should be number 1 tomorrow for sure. I still see Carolina in the final.

I know it may come as kind of a shock to all of you, but I'm a fan of the USC Trojan basketball team.

Demar Derozan has been a bust considering some were projecting him to be the first overall pick in the NBA draft next year, but he's slowly maturing into a better player than he was in the first few games. He is freakishly athletic, the high school dunk champion, and a pretty cool all around guy. He's from Compton and combined with him, Daniel Hackett, Taj Gibson, and Dwight Lewis, we have a pretty solid starting line up.

Respect. You guys came over to USC last year and beat us by under five points. We had the game iced but some missed free-throws, along with Mario Chalmers and Brandon Rush, cost us the game at the very end. I'm a big fan of both of those guys and they came with a lot of class, laughed at some of our signs in a light-hearted manner and were just a really great basketball team. After we (USC) were eliminated from the tourney by Michael Beastly, I was rooting for KU all the way, and I was screaming when Chalmers hit that three.

Add in the fact that I'm a pretty big Miami Heat fan (who have Mario Chalmers starting at PG), I don't feel any resentment about being bested by you guys last season.

But really I can't wait to see USC and their team play, they have a lot of young talent which scares me.

Don't worry, we don't know how to play offense. Tim Floyd is horrendous at coaching offense, but amazing at defense.

Well I haven't seem them play at all this year but if their defense is that good it should be an interesting, albeit boring, game against Bennett's defense.

Wow. U$C handed Oregon State their first conference win in almost two years.

Nice job by Cal beating Arizona State. Stanford has a nice bounce-back game against Arizona. Quite an interesting barometer day today in the Pac-10: Cal is going to finish higher than people expected, and Arizona is going to be much worse. USC will confuse and confound all year. Arizona State's ascendence to the top of the conference is still not fully assured, either. And it's not going to be a good year in Pullman -- sorry, cycocelica.

Oh, I see what you did there. You added a dollar sign where the "S" should be. How original, did you think of that all by yourself?

In other news, at least we killed Oregon by over 20...

$tanford would also be pretty appropriate but that usage apparently never caught on.

Which led to my statement that USC is going to be hard to figure this year on a game-by-game basis. Lots of talent and a good coach, but which team will show up on any given night? I personally would never, ever take them for granted.

I guess I forgot to mention Oregon in my last post. I think they too will end up worse than the pre-season consensus.
