Would the new cMBP 13" be a lot faster than my old 2008 MacBook 13" 2.4. Was thinking about upgrading. The 2008 works fine just a little slow.

Look at their post history if you're not sure. After reviewing it, I'm going to say that they aren't, and if turns out that they are, then hey ... I've given somebody a tiny chuckle ... In either case, I've actually helped somebody. WIN-WIN!

To the OP ... Yes, it will be way faster. Way.
 
I would say with confidence that yes, an i5 with a drastically improved integrated graphics that the 4000 is, it would be much faster.
