2008 Mac Pro issue

My 2008 Mac Pro is starting to behave erratically. It makes a howling sound as if it wants to start something mechanically and then it repeats a few times and then the screen goes black and the front light indicator starts to blink. First I thought it was a problem with one of the hard discs , but I removed them all (except for the boot SSD) yet still the sound and the same behavior. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

I didn't change anything about the set up for years...

Had the fans and flshing light on mine, was just a simple RAM issue. Just needed to make sure the Risers were seated properly.

THat solved the issues I had, hopefully it is nothing more serious than that for you.
