I have a 2008 Aluminum 13'' macbook. My cat recently knocked my laptop onto the floor from about 1.5 feet up. Afterwards, I noticed my F1 and F2 buttons do not work anymore to adjust my brightness. The rest of the F buttons work perfectly fine along with the rest of the keyboard. I remembered there were brightness controls in System Preferences under display, but they are no longer there. I can't adjust my brightness at all. How do I go about fixing this? Thanks for reading.

I'm not an expert but have you gone of system preferences, then keyboard, there are 2 tabs, keyboard, and keyboard shortcuts. Check the keyboard shortcuts. Then under keyboard there is a box that says, 'Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys'. Make sure that isn't checked. That's about all I can offer! Sorry! There are a lot of threads about it on apple, this is one, it might lead you to something that'll fix it if this doesn't help!
