So I have a 2008 (plastic, non unibody) Macbook that stopped charging and won't turn on - it worked fine until the battery died. No Apple Care unfortunately. Tested the power adapter on another computer and it works fine.

Am I correct in assuming the problem is the DC in board? I don't think it would be the logic board because the computer still worked until the battery died completely.

Also, anyone know how much Apple would charge to fix this? I may be better off doing it myself.

Thanks!
