2008 MBP:USB ports too large, USBs are loose

Hello,
This is my first post; I have a frustrating problem. The USB ports are too large (from wear??) so many USBs ares too small to create a connection.
I know my MBP is old, but I shouldn't have to replace it for a USB port problem like this. Is there any solution?
