Hello,
I have a late 2008 unibody.
I regularly order movies from netflix and I had originally written this behavior off as bad disks.
However, I recently started testing the disks I was having trouble with in my Windows machine and standard DVD player and they work fine in other DVD players. This evening I received a movie that just came out from netflix and the disk is in perfect condition and it is one that won't play in my mac and plays fine in my PC and DVD player.
When this happens my mac tries to read the disk for about 5 minutes then it gives up and tells me I have inserted a blank DVD and gives me the option to burn content to the DVD.
I have tried rebooting, repairing disk permissions and resetting my p-ram. I have also tried cleaning the disks. I have checked the region on the disks and they are always region 1.
This is very frustrating as I have my mac set up to be my preferred movie viewing machine.
Any guesses as to what could be causing this would be appreciated!
Lori
