Hi Guys,

My 2009 13" MBP will not read Dual Layer Disc's i.e Genuine DVD's ( not copies on DVD-R's ) the reason i say Dual Layer is because its only the DVD's that say "Dual Layer" on the case somewhere are the ones that wont play. It may just be coincidental.

It just makes and funny noise like trying to read then spits it out. Works fine if its not a Dual Layer DVD.

Any ideas, its really annoying some of my best movies i cannot play on my MBP but the work on the other half's Dell.

Thanks

Matt

So has it played them fine until today and now it won't play them anymore? Or has it never played DL DVDs?

No never has played them, Like TV Show boxsets like my Friends Season 1-10 Set do not play, Recent DVD's like Unstoppable and The Mechanic wont play also. But they play on my home DVD player and wife's Dell 17" Laptop.
