-Downloaded from app store.
-Claims the hard drive on the machine has errors on it.
-When going into disk utility I can verify the drive but not repair it (repair is grayed out).
-CPU says to boot off of a install DVD.
-When I try to do that, the superdrive spits the disc out.
-I am using my install media because hers has been lost most likely.
-I'd wager my install media is dual layered DVD and her superdrive is likely not.
-Trying to bring my firewire array to her computer to try and boot off of it to do a disk repair but no luck.
-Frustrating!

Looks like my wife might not be getting Mavericks goodness from what I can see.

But now how to go back to Mountain Lion? I keep getting the happy "install Mavericks" initial screen.

Update

Did a repair permissions which did work and I was able to install it.

But after I did a software install after the boot the thing is stuck at a gray screen at boot with a circular rotating icon in the center just a little more than halfway down.

Further update: Zapping Pram and Resetting the SMC seems to have taken care of the issue. For now!
