Hello all,

Since 2.5 years I've owned a 24" iMac (early 2009 model). Although I'm very fond of the computer, I have this one annoying issue. Randomly, the sound fails. In all applications, even the "blips" from adjusting the sounds on the keyboard become silent.

Reboots always solve the problem.

When I bought the Mac Leopard was on it. Now I'm on Snow leopard (fully updated). When I switched over to Snow Leopard I wiped the Mac entirely. The problem appeared to be gone, bit re-appeared after some time.

This of course may be due to 3rd party software, I just don't know what software that would be. There's nothing much on there and the only application that's always open is Firefox (updated as well).

Any clues?
