2009 Mac Pro and monitor extension cable

Hi guys,

I need an extension cable for my 2009 Mac pro and 24" Cinema Display as right now the cable is far too short from tower to monitor.

Also, do Apple do their version? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Not sure why, but your link doesn't work on my computer. Anyway, a very simple mini display port 1.2 extension cable is what you need. e.g.

Does it matter that this one is female to male rather than male to female?or are both the same?

For stock config Mac Pro and ACD combination, it MUST be the male to female extension cable. And both end MUST be the MINI display port standard (NOT normal display port).

Thanks for all the advice guys. In the end I bought the Neet extension cable from.Amazon. I haven't tried it yet but hopefully it does the job.

Mine didn't come with the USB connection. I haven't yet hooked up the wire so no idea if it actually works!!!
