Hi guys,

I have a 2009 Mac Pro (5,1 firmware) which doesn't power on my USB keyboard from sleep. All the other USB devices get powered on. I reset the NVram which didn't seem to help.

If I restart, or physically reinsert the keyboard's USB plug the keyboard is recognized.
I've had this problem for a long time (I feel like a patch in 10.13 made this issue show up - or maybe the keyboard is aging).

Does anyone have some suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks.

This is a common problem with a lot of Microsoft keyboards, maybe others, and happens with a lot of Macs.

My MM6,1 do it all the time it goes to deep sleep, Apple even made a BootROM update to address this, but still happens and I have to disconnect and re-connect my Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard frequently.

My Mac Pro is 24/7 powered on and I usually use Apple keyboards with it, so I never had the same problem.
