My question is, is it possible that any 2009 Mac Pro would support the B1 stepping for Westmere chips, so that a chip swap upgrade for the W3690 processor (single processor) or the X5690 (dual processor) would be possible? Or would you have to get a 2010 Mac Pro processor tray to make this upgrade possible on a 2009?
