I have a 2009 Macbook Pro 13-inch. I purchased it around April of 2010 so it's about 2 months out of warranty. On a vacation, I cracked the glass screen (not the LCD) and had it replaced. That repair took place in August of 2010. That's just a little bit of background on this computer.
About 2 months ago; I noticed that the screen would lag and fade into white at certain angles, adjusting the angles or pressing down on the screen (into the hinge) would fix the problem momentarily. Most of the time, the screen operates normally. There are bad moments and good moments, but I've been able to adjust the screen so that it stops lagging. The screen seems to work better once the computer gets heated up.
I'm not very adept at troubleshooting Macs, but I can tell that this isn't a logic board problem. The screen shows up fine on an external display. It seems like either something is wrong with the screen or the inversion/data cable from the logic board to the screen. I'm considering replacing whatever defective part it turns out to be.
I'd appreciate any help or comments I can get. I've tried searching for any similar problems, but I get pages full of postings on the 2008 graphics card problem. If you guys need any more information, just ask. I also have a link to a Youtube video showing the problem. Thanks!
