Yesterday my machine gave a black screen but the keyboard and LED light still lit up. I pressed the power button to reboot. Upon rebooting the machine chimed as usual, but only showed a white/grey screen without the Apple logo. The disk drive powers up along with the fans. I can hear a faint beeping from inside the machine, not from the speakers. I thought it was a RAM problem and then replaced the after market RAM with factory RAM to no avail. Then, I thought it might be a hard drive problem, so I inserted a flash usb drive which contains a bootable version of Mac OSX Leopard, I pressed the power button, after the chime I pressed OPTION which would then bring up the flash drive as a bootable disk, but still nothing. It only showed the white/grey screen without the Apple logo.
I am unsure of the problem. Please help me.
Thanks
