My sister has a mid-2009 13" Macbook Pro and she said she was getting the battery service alert and really bad battery life with her original battery. I looked around and recommended a replacement battery from OWC (good reviews, 1 year warranty). She got it and put it in, but now her macbook won't boot. The charge indicator light on the magsafe is really faint. She tried putting the old battery back in and it won't boot with that either now.
She isn't in the same state as me, so any help I can offer is via the phone. She tried the basics (NVRAM, SMC reset) but nothing. She left it sitting plugged in for a long time but still no luck. Contacted OWC and they had some suggestions, but those didn't work either.
Any ideas from those of you who have done battery replacements? It looked like a fairly straightforward replacement process (just screws, no adhesives) so I'm not sure what could have gone wrong.
