My 2009 macbook has 2gb ram and my 2010 macbook pro has 4gb ram. I bought 8gb ram for my 2010 macbook pro and is it possible if I can put the old ram in the pro into the 2009 macbook? Would there be any issues if I do? Thanks!

The MacBook runs at a higher temperature than the MacBook Pro. Therefore the memory will expand and possibly ignite.

TLDR; no.

Depends on the exact model of 2009 MacBook. Check :apple: then About this Mac - if it says DDR3 then it'll work fine.

Thanks.. My 2009 Macbook says DDR3 so I'm guessing it should work like you said.:D If anybody wants to confirm or add any more info that would be appreciated!

Make sure you have marshmallows ready because the macbook will ignite if you put that ram in it.

Then please explain why exactly a 2009 macbook running snow leopard, one year older than the other computer i have, will "ignite" if I put in the 4gb ram?
