Hi There
I have a 17" 2009 mbp with Lion installed on a 256gb c300 crucial ssd and a seagate 500gb fitted in an optibay enclosure. Recently I've been experiencing freezes slowdown and beach balls which can last upto a couple of minutes and often requires a reboot whereby sometimes I get the flashing ? folder startup disk. My feeling is that the ssd drive has gone bad.

I ran hardware test and this error code came up
4SNS/1/40000000:TCOD - 106.000

I looked on a few forums and tried to update my ssd firmware mine is 002 but eventually gave up as it was too complicated.

My plan is to disconnect the ssd drive and reinstall lion on the seagate 500gb but before i do this is there anything else i can do to diagnose the fault.

Many thanks for looking
