Hey Everyone,

I have a 2009 MBP and was curious if anyone has bought these 3rd party adapters so you can run 2 external monitors? Here are some references:

2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbkjOY04Ga0

Anyone have used Matrox or other 3rd party adapters on a 2009 MBP? I know newer MBP's can do this out of the box, so primarily looking for advice from older MBP users! =)

Thanks in advance!

All USB video devices like that use a DisplayLink chip. Those chips don't have support for Mac OS X's CoreImage or 3D acceleration. The Matrox devices appear as one really wide or really tall display to the machine. It does not enable the machine to use both screen independently.

Which I'm assuming is fine if I'm not doing any 3D applications, or youtube or anything....simple web browsing should be adequate right?
