Hi

I've come across a problem where my MBP Superdrive will not read some DVD's.

I'm in the process of backing up my DVD collection as so far has worked fine, now i have got to my "Friends" boxset it will not read them. It has read them before now it just wont. If i put another show or movie DVD in it will read it just seems to be the "Friends" DVD's

The discs are like new, no marks etc.... and there genuine not copies.

Here's a video of what it does ( click image )

Any ideas?

Matt

I'm sure you probably have, but have you restarted, tried other DVDs to ensure the drive is not broken outright, and have you checked the drives health using any software?

Yeah done all that, other DVDs work fine even scratched up copies seem to work, just not these Friends DVD, like I said they were working as I backed up season 1, but it wont even read season 1 again? It's very strange.

Sometimes if I put another DVD in let it start up then eject and stick a Friends Disc in it will work.

This is so annoying now, the DVD's work in my DVD Player, My Xbox 360 but not in my Macbook Pro.

Its literary just this Friends boxset every other DVD works fine. I got 1 disc to work earlier but not since.

Like i said they were working at christmas.
