Greetings. I wish to bring my wife's first generation unlocked / jailbroken iPhone with me when we vacation to Serbia / Montenegro in May of 2009. I looked at AT&T rates over there and even with international plans they still wish to charge 3.99 a min roaming on Telenor. I have heard of the possibility to use the Telenor sim in an unlocked iPhone. Ideally I wish to just get a prepaid sim and use it the month I will be there.

Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

I can't tell you specifically about Serbia and Montenegro, but I've traveled in Bosnia and Croatia in the past year and I know that it's pretty easy to get one of those sim cards. They're popular pretty much all over Europe, so I'm sure it's the same with S&CG. As long as your iPhone is unlocked, the sim cards work perfectly. And they're pretty cheap, too, around $10-20 bucks. Just make sure to take your AT&T card before you leave, so you don't get charged for roaming.
