Will I see any benefits from clean installing Mountain Lion on my late 2009 Macbook? I am about to do a clean install of Snow Leopard is why I ask. This is going to be my main home computer now, for light MS Office use, iLife and surfing the web.

A clean install always helps when making space on your Hard Drive.
Other than that, I don't think there is another benefit from a clean install.

If you are implying that you are upgrading your OS, then make sure to mention that. That way people will know what you are talking about and will more likely help.

Not sure if you mean clean install ML vs clean install SL, or clean install of SL and upgrade to ML.

Mountain lion has iCloud sync, which is only useful if you have an iphone for the most part, and newer drivers for windows 7. Otherwise mountain lion is not much better than snow leopard.
