Want a second hand laptop for taking away to work ( offshore ) want it for FaceTime with home, emails, Internet browsing, watching movies, playing footy manager and using Citrix.
Which one should I go for of the above options?

I'd take the 2011 MBP easily. Faster and can be upgraded with more RAM and SSD.

No upgrades just something for work, may have to fly to office once in a while I suppose for work, so may have to go through airports...

I would go with the Air if you don't need expandability and will be on the go often.

If you travel often I'd get the Air personally. If you really need the extra space get yourself a USB external drive. You'll sooner or later start hating life and the fact that you bought a brick (Pro) if you fly very often.

The MacBook Air for the portability. It's also fast enough to do all the things you said you do and the screen resolution is higher on the MacBook Air.
