Well i think the 11 screen would be too small but i want a backlit keyboard ..

My budget is £800 or a 2011 13" MBP with decent spec to trade as a maximum so I'm looking at used models ..

You could just wait for the 2011 models to surface in the refurb store. Considering the ongoing price drops on lesser 2010 models, it has to be a matter of time.

I've got the 11" and I've got no problem with the screen size. I think it's great, but I only use it for basic stuff like web browsing. It all depends what you want to do with it, are you going to need the extra pixels?

I would go with the 2011 models. The 2010 models don't have a backlit keyboard and the 2011's are much better in terms of performance. And if you feel the 11" is too small, just go for 13". If you want to stay within your budget, go for a 13" 2011 refurb when it hits the store.

just get 13" 2011 model.. why would you want to get the old model if you can get the latest model right now.

What do you do with it?

The 11" is a beautiful little machine, I would personally avoid the 13" Macbook Pro, as the 11" screen resolution is a great deal sharper. If you need more real-estate, then I'd recommend using an external monitor when you don't need to be mobile.

If you had the option, I'd go for the 13" 2011 Air. If you don't have the cash now, and you can wait, it's by far the best option, IMO.

I was planning on getting the 11" and I was already maxing my budget out with that but I decided that if this was going to be my main machine than I would probably be happier with the 13" so I pushed the budget a bit further to get the 13". Should be here Tuesday :D.
