2010 17" MBP with 30-inch Apple Cinema display via adapter?

Anyone using this combination with the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter sold by apple having issues? For a while, I thought there were issues due to the graphics card not working too well with MBPs and ACDs. Some people said it was the adapter.
