I've got to take my iMac into the Apple store for repair of a non functioning network port.

A: The rep on the phone said he didn't know if the port was on a daughter board or the logic board. Which is it?

B: I live 4 hours from the nearest Apple store so I'm sending it with a relative to take in after thanksgiving. Anything specific that I need to tell her to look for when she picks it up?

If it's a network port that will be on the main logic board, do you have AppleCare, if not you will wish you had.

Oh, yes. I wouldn't be asking so casually if I didn't. :p

Edit: That's a long-standing rule of mine. If the screen is built-in get the applecare.
