I recently acquired an 2010 iMac 21.5" EMC 2389 with no display. These originally shipped with LG LM215WF3 (SD)(A1) displays.
But I got a (SD)(C2) display for it, which was originally part of a 2011 iMac, and of course the connectors are not the same.
Is it possible to use this display with my iMac by somehow modding the connectors? Or was I just stupid and just must buy the right (SD)(A1) display?
I will attach the photos of the 2 different connectors. Both are 30-pin ones.
The upper cable is the one for the right display, however I only have the cable, and not the display. The motherboard end fits into the motherboard of the iMac.
The lower cable came with the (SD)(C2) display. The display end fits into the display controller board, however not into the motherboard of the iMac.
Would it be possible to create a Frankenstein connector out of these two, which could connect to both the display and the motherboard?
