I have a 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 with dual x5690's (12-core) & Radeon pulse sapphire 8gb running OCLP Sequoia and I have just gotten some ram for free so want to install those. I will never need to use this much RAM but since I've updated my system I might as well max everything out...... Specs will look great to me at least.
I have 8 sticks of each of the following:
Crucial
CT204872BB160B.36FED
16G8 240- PIN 2GX72 DOR3 PC3- 12
Samsung
M393B4G70BMO-YH9
32GB 4Rx4 PC3L-10600R 09-11-AB1-P2
I really don't want to keep shutting down and trying each sticks 2 by 2 and run into issues and I believe the higher ram needs some work done with OCLP first.
Questions:
1. Regardless of capacity, is one of the ram better than the other to use?
2. Will my system be able to use 6 or 8 sticks of the 16gb ram as is without having to do anything in OCLP?
3. Will my system be able to use 6 or 8 sticks of the 32gb ram as is without having to do anything in OCLP?
4. Are there instructions anywhere on what I will need to do with OCLP to maximize
my ram capacity.
