Hi all,
To begin, here are selected stats :
-----
2010 Mac Pro, 3.2 ghz quad core
6gb (2x3) Memory
ATI Radeon HD 5870
Dell S2309W 23 inch monitor (primary display)
Dell ST2310 23 inch monitor (secondary display)
Magic Trackpad
Magic Mouse

Starting a few days ago, I noticed lag between my movements on the trackpad/mouse and the pointers movement on the screen.
I was surprised to find that this was a well documented issue with previous Mac Pro models, and had to do with incorrect placement of the Bluetooth antennae in the older model Mac Pro cases.
However, very few threads/websites dealt with a lag issue with the NEW 2010 Mac Pro's; but obviously, this is what I was dealing with.
Some random threads suggested changing wifi channels, turning off airport, moving the Mac Pro position, etc. However, none of these seemed to work. Even with my peripherals positioned directly on the Mac Pro, there was noticeable lag.
To further complicate things, there was definitely no lag when I first received my Mac Pro (a few weeks ago).
So, it seemed logical that some 'change' must have occurred to cause this lag. However, I couldn't think of a single thing.
...
...
Then I turned on my second monitor, since I was bored and checking out 'Second Bar' (http://blog.boastr.net/?page_id=1722)....
And the lag disappeared.
That 'change' had slipped my mind; but yes, in an effort to save energy I had decided to only turn 'on' my second monitor when I actually needed the 'real estate'. However whenever it was OFF, (and the experiment has been repeated), bluetooth peripherals lagged.
o.0
I am not an extremely smart guy, so maybe this is something that is expected. It certainly surprised me though! I'm just glad that I managed to figure out the problem.
Hopefully this thread finds and helps someone else in a similar situation.
