I have a 2010 15" 2.66ghz Intel core i7 with 8gb of Ram. This is the macbook that switches between intel's HD graphics and the Nvidia Geforce GT 330M (512mb vram).

A couple days ago I was playing Portal 2 (mac edition) and I had a crash. The screen went white and the computer rebooted. After the reboot I took a look at the report it was sending to Apple and it looked like there were some notes about Nvidia drivers. Now today I had the same thing happen again while I was likewise playing Portal 2. I am worried this might not be a simple software issue and be hardware related. I'm wondering if people would suggest I take this problem into Apple, especially given my applecare will expire in couple of months.

I should say that I have the settings on Portal turned down to medium from high which it defaults to given my specs and that both crashes appear random as there's nothing particular indicative of that gameplay that would indicate a particular amount of added stress etc.

Thanks,
