Hi all,

It's pretty strange, not the usual sticky keys problem I found on Google searches, but here's what happened:

I was happily typing away on IRC when all of a sudden my meSsAges StARTeD To lOoK LiKe ThIS, and before I knew it, EVERYTHING ENDED UP IN UPPER CASE. The problem then briefly resolved itself for a few minutes, but then came back and is now here to stay.

Toggling caps-lock and shift doesn't have any effect, and the problem also affects the numbers (i.e. instead of typing '2' I get '@'). Any other inputs I make are also interpreted as if I'm holding down shift (so you can imagine that logging in after a restart is tricky). I've been mashing away at the shift button but it hasn't changed anything.

Computer is also very slow at starting up now (presumably because it's now starting up in safe mode).

Using an external USB keyboard works fine.

I've pulled out the shift key and cleaned out dust etc underneath. It doesn't really look like a hardware issue...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
