Hello
I've MacBook Pro issues, it started taking to long to boot, it keeps restarting, it hangs, it’s very slow, it heats up. So I found it needs upgrade (RAM, SDD, and the optical (DVD player.) But I’m not expert in buying parts from the net, and local Apple dealer doesn’t have it plus they charge a lot of money to just diagnose. I did some searching but I got confused.
What I have is a MacBook Pro 13” mid 2010, it have 4G RAM (Samsung) 225G SSD (Seagate). SN#W8016GB7ATM
I need your guidance, where to buy the RAM and what brand & capacity (8 or 16G) , SDD (500G)or more, the DVD.
Thanks to you all

Your model can take 8gb of ram. Best bet for the correct dimms is OWC. They have drives but Samsung drives are good and can be found easily on Amazon. The 860 EVO is currently $90. Both are very easy to replace. Go to IFixit For instructions. Also plenty on YouTube.

DVD is harder and unless needed when portable, an external is cheaper and easier to install. I have an iMac with a dead SuperDrive and just hooked up an external drive instead of replacing it.

You can also get a pretty cheap adapter kit to put a 2nd hard drive in the optical bay so you have two hard drives. This is what I did with my 2011- replaced the original hd with a Samsung evo and moved the original spinning hd over to the optical bay for extra storage.

Much appreciated, I'll check it.

I'm not expert on doing so, but I'll try
Thanks

Can you please suggest the RAM brand/type, as I found different ones with diffrent DDRs (3,4) & PINs 204, 260, 288, & MHz 1600, 2666,
Plus I live in Qatar, hard to return if it doesn't fit.
Thanks

Not to worry, it’s pretty straight forward. I installed 16g ram, new solid state hd, and the dvd drive adapter for the old hd in my 2011 13” and I was done in a half hour. I had never installed any computer hardware before that.
