If you are lucky bestbuy stores have 'open box' 2010 MBAs for really bargain prices. I paid $750 for one in absolutely new condition that was in the pristine box with everything. It had never been registered with apple. They also gave me a free Apple Tv. What a great deal and i have 18 months to pat it off if i choose.:):)

That sounds like a good deal for people who don't need the latest and greatest or couldn't take advantage of the Amazon 20% off deal. I am satisfied with mine for $900 though.:D

I liked the 18 month same as cash deal. Nothing out of pocket and the 2010 serves my needs. Not sure what i'll do with the apple tv since i have a roku. I wonder if i take my Mba to the apple store if they will install word for me. Its the only other program i want on iT?

I got a 13" 2011 then an open box 11" for the wife for $730. The wife didnt want it (prefers iPad) but I fell in love with the size and so I returned both and got me an 11" 2011, an open box MacMini 2010 ($400) and 2 free $100 Gift Cards.

People slam Best Buy all the time, but I find them to be much better than buying from Apple due to the lower prices, 18mo financing, price matching, reward zone bonus, open box sales and longer return policy.

Damn! I should go back to see what they have in stock! 3 weeks ago I bought an open-box 2010 13" Air for $975.00 I got a $100 BB GC with it, but still, your deal blows that away! I get 45-days for returns since I'm a RZ Silver member. Gotta visit them tomorrow :)

Totally agreed!

which model?

The Best Buy near me had a bunch of 2010 open box Airs, but I really didn't think they were discounted all that great.

The one that caught my eye though was a 2010 Mac Mini base model that they had as an open box for $449.99. I get RZ silver bonus points and have some to burn. Think worth it for that price even though it's a C2D processor?

The new base model for $599 will run circles around it, but only you can decide if the substantial increase in performance is worth $150 (to me it would not be).

Depends if you've got a nice display to hook it up to.

That is what I am looking for. My best buy had the 2010 base model open box but only had it discounted to $540. I can't justify that price. For an extra $30 I could just buy the new model.
