I have this issue where my MBP is forgetting its brightness setting. I unchecked the box that says "automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes", as I like to manually keep my screen at the same setting regardless of how dark or light it is.
I do have checked "Slightly dim display when using this power source" in Energy Saver for the battery profile.
My issue happens when I switch profiles. Usually whatever settings I have for one profile (i.e. main account vs. guest account), will carry over when I log on to the other account. From what I understand each profile is supposed to save its own settings with regard to screen brightness, volume, etc.
Also this happens when I unplug the power cord and run on battery. For instance I'll have the brightness set at 4 ticks below max. I'll unplug the power cord, the display will dim (as I have it set to do when running on battery) but then when I plug it back in after a few minutes, the screen brightness will be at maximum, not at 4 ticks below.
I've reinstalled, clean installed, done a SMC and PMU reset, with no luck.
Apple support has no idea how to resolve this. Anyone have the same issues?
