Hey guys!

I am considering picking up a refurbished 2010 Macbook with 4 gb ram and a 250 gb HDD with Office and Yosemite pre-loaded. I am also considering a new PC laptop with 4GB HDD, 250-500gb HDD (Bay Trail processor).

I am looking mainly to use Office and also Maschine Music Production software. Maschine requires OS X 10.8 to 10.10 to operate and at least 2gb of ram (4gm recommended on a Core 2 duo). On the PC end its a core 2 duo, 2gb of ram (4gb recommended with either Windows 7 or 8).

Which would you recommend? I like the Mac better, but I feel that a new machine might work out better in the long run too. I am not looking at spending over $300, but I will upgrade the ram and SSD in the future with either machine.

It depends on the model PC but if you find other software that requires the OS X operating system, and the Mac is in good condition, then you can't go wrong either way.
