Hi all,

Yesterday I came home from university and woke my MBA up, started doing stuff and all of a sudden my trackpad and keyboard stopped working.
I thought it had frozen so I forced shut down, booted up to find it hanging on the white screen repeatedly chiming. After I let it rest for a couple of hours it booted fine, yet five minutes of using it stopped responding to TP and KB. External mouse will work.

So I ran recovery mode and repaired disk (said it needed it so I thought this would fix it) so it did, yet again after 15 minutes, no response. So I reinstalled mountain lion which made it work for about 30 minutes and then again no response.
Right now I wanted to install lion to exclude ML problems but the pc just won't get past white screen, it either chimes once and stops or repeatedly chimes.

Also when keyboard and trackpad are nonresponsive the right USB port doesn't work, don't know about thunderbolt port and sd port has always been a liability (both on my 2010 27" iMac as the MBA they don't work more often than they do).

SMC and PRAM reset didn't help the cause.
Is this my logic board that's shot (or part of it)?
If so I am severely doubting my next laptop will be an Apple one, my last laptop from them (17" MBP bought in may 2008) also had a shot motherboard, cost me 600 euros.

Thanks for your time reading this and any advice you have to offer!
