I just wanted to get some opinions here. I have an offer to do a straight trade: my MBP for an iMac. The portability is somewhat of a factor - would be nice but I can use an iPad in those instances if I must. The screen size is appealing, but the 15" is sufficient for me too. Is the iMac that much faster than the MBP (everyday tasks, video converting, downloading videos)? I do like the idea of using the iMac's wireless keyboard with the iPad too. Also, are they about equal in value? What would you do in this situation? Thanks!

Your computer will be likely slightly faster for video conversion, and downloading is all about your connection, not how fast the computer is. The iMac also cost $100 less to begin with, so I'd probably decline the trade if I were you
