I've waded through the threads here and I'm not seeing anything definitive, as best as I can tell, in order to convert my 27" 2011 iMac (right now, hard drive only) into a SSD + Hard Drive configuration, using 100% Apple parts, I would need:

922-9875 SSD Data & Power Cable (combined)
076-1383 SSD Bracket

And some screws, perhaps:

922-9488 Screw, T8, M3x0.5x3.0mm, Pkg. of 5
922-6850 Screw, T10, Wafer head, T3.0, 9.0MM, Pkg. of 5

And thats it - once installed, it's as if it was OEM Apple. Right?

Not unless you also exchange the iMac case for one with the proper holes to affix the SSD carriers to. The one needed for the proper installation of the SSD differs from models that come without an SSD preinstalled.

Really, I'm amazed they would do that. Seems less expensive to make a single part.

Cheers,

Some Non-SSD Models come with the mounts. I have 2 27" non-ssd Imac's and only one came with the mounts.
