Hi all,

My 13 inch i5 macbook air has developed a problem where the speakers emit a short pop (kind of distorted pop) when they are used after a period of inactivity. At first I noticed it when flash adverts would load on webpages then I noticed it when receiving an email through mail.

Im now able to re-create the pop but using the volume keys, I have to give it a minute or so and then change the volume and sure enough it does it every time.

Anyone else had this issue? or know of a solution?

Regards

Lee

Start by resetting NVRAM
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

If that doesn't work, you can try resetting the SMC too, but I don't think that will do anything for this.

Is it both speakers or just one? Does it happen with you have something plugged into the audio out?

You may just need to go have it serviced to have the 1/2 speakers replaced.
