Currently have late 2009 iMac base spec but with 8gb total ram. I play anno 1404 but have to play at 1650x1080 to keep it playable. All graphics settings are on low.

I have been offered 2011 iMac from a work colleague, same 21 inch but better model. Ie 1tb hard drive, 6770m gpu.

My question how much real life difference will there be between the 9400 nvidia in my mac and the 6770m in his.

Thanks

Forgot to say I play in boot amp via windows xp

I play SWTOR on iMac 2011 on HD 6750m (6770m is a bit higher clock speed) and I'm able to play this on high at HD rez (shadows off) with avg of like 50fps. [Bootcamp in windows 7]

Benchmark = PassMark - G3D Mark

The 9400m benchmark score is 147

They HD 6770m is 1378

So there is a hugh different hope this helps

I play SWTOR on the 27" 3.4 i7 with the 6970M w/ 2GB VRAM and get 60-100 FPS with everything except shadows maxed out.

That chart actually makes me glad I didn't wait for the refresh. It looks like the 7970 mobile version which will likely be in the new iMacs will only be about 20% better than the 6970M, since the 7970M will basically be equivalent to the current 6970 desktop version.

Wow i didnt realise how slow the 9400m was until i saw that list of scores....

I know my old PC can play Anno on high at 1900x1200 resolution with its old 8800GT card. According to the charts it scores 946 so the 21inch imac with the 6770m should easily be able to match it at full res as it scores higher than the old desktop card i have.
