Geniuses -

I have been hearing my HDD a lot lately and noticed a lag in opening/closing applications. I am currently using about 530 GB of the 1TB disk. I also just downloaded Blackmagicdesign's Disk Speed Test to see what exactly was going on - here is what I am getting:

WRITE: ~ 100 MB/s
READ: ~ 100 MB/s

Is that good, bad or indifferent? Reason I ask, is that I would consider an external SSD as a boot disk and using the internal disk as storage for media, etc.

There's a lot of other threads regarding the pros and cons of using an external SSD, so no need to rehash it all here. But, for your hard drive's speed benchmarks, yes - those look correct.
