I recently purchased a 2011 iMac 21.5 running on OS X Mohave. I had to reset the the computer and now I’m in the middle of set up. I’m set up, but now I need to download quick time media player. I downloaded QuickTime 7.7.9 and a small window appeared. It downloaded and shows in my down load folder but it never applied. Anyone have any advice or help to properly install the QuickTime player on to this model?? Thank you

The 2011 iMac is not supported with Mojave. The maximum macOS you should be running is High Sierra (10.13.6).

What do you see in the Downloads folder?
I see a QuickTime Player 7.7.9 download available, but it is for Windows. Are you sure you have a version for macOS?
Have you checked for a QuickTime Player in your Applications folder?

Here is the only link I see at Apple for a macOS QuickTime Player 7:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL923?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
It will download a "QuickTimePlayer7.6.6_SnowLeopard.dmg" file in the Downloads folder. If you double click it a window will open with a "QuickTimePlayer7.6.6_SnowLeopard.pkg" file. You will have to double click that file to begin installation.
