2011 iMac Target Display Mode (TDM)

I have a mid-2011 iMac that I would like to use as a monitor for a computer that has display port on the gpu. I'm fairly certain the TDM for this model is only thunderbolt to thunderbolt, but was curious if anyone has come across examples of display port to thunderbolt or some setup of cables to allow a non-thunderbolt output to work.

I have not come across such setups myself, but the internets are large.
