2011 Macbook Pro 13" Battery Replace Now Message

Hello

I recently upgraded from my old G5 tower to a 13" macbook pro 2.7.

Since I've received it my batter charge percentage has topped out at 99%, and when I hover on it I get the Replace Batter Now Message.

I have worked with it quite a bit, running only on battery and it does appear to keep a decent charge but am perplexed why I'm getting this and if I should work to get this replaced prior to it coming out of warranty - not sure how long the battery would be warranted for.

Any advice or thoughts is appreciated.

Thanks

I would make an appointment with Apple. The batteries are usually covered for the initial first year, but this was for the user replaceables, which Apple replaced for me after more than 2 years.

I believe the unibodies are supposed to last 1000 charges I do believe.

That's normal.

That's not normal.

Reset your SMC (instructions in the link below, under CHARGING) and see if you get the same message. If so, take it to Apple for a replacement.

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:
